“On your way to hit your Flatbed Trucking Target you will need to make sacrifices, if you are not willing to, then you have the wrong target” Joe Jackson

Here at FLOATR we are driven by Targets, daily, monthly, 90 days and yearly.

Let us define the word target

Target; an objective or result toward which efforts are directed.

Similar words, objective, goal, object, aim, end, desired result, plan, purpose, intention, intent, design, aspiration, ambition, ideal and hope.

The first few targets I set for FLOATR required a lot of sacrifices, but I accomplished them; I went from full-time employment that provided financial security for my family to not knowing the next time I would get paid.

Having an exciting set of targets will motivate you and help you stay committed. In addition, if you have incremental targets along the way, you will be able to monitor your progress and see if you are falling short of your goals. As an example, when Covid first hit, I saw that my sales target as well as my social presence was not being met. At this time, I decided to sell one of my properties, I had intended to use the money myself, but made the sacrifice to use the money to buy our 2000 Peterbilt 379, known as Big Blue! Immediately that same month we not only hit all the targets at that time but exceeded them! Still to this day, it helps in our marketing and promotional targets as one of the faces associated with FLOATR.

To achieve these targets, we constantly set targets, and with those targets we set priorities, only three, then we write a list of sacrifices we are willing to make to reach them.

As an example, let us say you want to lose 40 lbs in the next 6 months, that is your target. Now write 3 priorities to that target; 1- attend the gym 4 days a week, 2- drink 3 litres of water every day, 3- complete the workout every day by 6 am.

Your next step would be to write down all the sacrifices that need to be made. If you find the sacrifices are too hard to give up then you may have the wrong target, keep adjusting your target until the sacrifices are something that you are willing to give up.

We are also not shy about sharing targets with our team at FLOATR so everyone knows and understands what the objective is and what we need to do or give up in order to achieve the desired target, this works well because it also creates accountability amongst the team.

So when setting targets, make a list of three priorities you will need to accomplish the target and then a list of sacrifices that you will have to make to achieve the desired outcome!

Thanks for reading.
Be great Joe Jackson
